1981 Toyota Celica Full Convertible

In the late seventies American Custom Coachworks (ACC), Hollywood, California 1953-2003 was the largest custom coach builder in the USA.  While they built a number of stretched limousines and utility vehicles, mostly for oil-rich Arabs, the bulk of their business was in converting steel-topped coupes to convertibles. They worked exclusively for Toyota, Ford, Cadillac, and Lincoln-Mercury dealers.  It took about six weeks to make the conversion; this required removal of the top section as well as some restructuring, including reinforcing the windshield and door pillar posts.

Today American Limousine Sales 2003-2021 manufacture Cadillac and Lincoln limousines and sell directly to Corporations, Casinos, Hotels, Companies, Limousine Services, Private Individuals, Heads of State, Royal Families, Movie Studios, Celebrities, and Transportation Companies.

Internationally acclaimed American Limousine Sales is the oldest, (68 Years), family-owned Limousine Manufacturing and Distributing company in the USA.

American Custom Coachworks, Ltd., of Beverly Hills, California, produced approximately 900 full convertible Toyota Celica’s. A fire at the company several years later destroyed primary sources of historical records. All that remains is secondary sources in period literature and the few example cars that have not been sent to the crusher.

This Beautiful example has survived the test of time. Well maintained by the original owner 1981-2020!

It sports the original interior & driveline showing very minor wear and touch ups. Additional features are, Power Steering & Brakes, Automatic Transmission, Cold Air Conditioning, Luggage Rack, Taillight Filler Panel, Aluminum Rocker Sport Trim and Wire Basket Wheels. Believed to be 44,501 original miles.
