1966 Shelby Daytona Coupe Replica

Celebrating the #15 Daytona Cobra Coupe as it raced at the 12 Hours of Reims in July 1964. Once again, Dan Gurney and Bob Bondurant were at the wheel as they had been during the historic winning effort at Le Mans. California’s golden son, Dan Gurney, set the fastest GT qualifying time during that race. Unfortunately, a broken tail shaft on the transmission put the car out of the race during the 2nd hour. At Reims, #15 had the unique distinction of carrying the famous Dan Gurney for President stickers on the rear fenders of the car. The only time that this ever happened! The candidacy was initiated and supported by the ever popular “Car and Driver” magazine.

This wonderfully built 2^nd generation replica by Factory Five features a Fiberglas body faithful to the original designed by Pete Brock.  The potent 302CI small block Ford V-8 engine features SVO Aluminum Heads, 4-barrel Holley Carburetor, MSD Ignition, Cobra Aluminum Oil pan and Headers with Quad Sidepipes simulating the original Daytona Coupes.  A 5-Speed Transmission distributes power through an independent rear differential. True “Knock Off” Aluminum Wheels look just like back in 1966. Four-wheel disc brakes provide the stopping power.

Staying true to the original, 4-point Simpson Seat Belts help keep you in the wraparound bucket seats. And a 6-point Street Roll Cage helps provide safety. The wrapped dash has a full complement of Pro Comp Gauges. Floor Carpeting refines the interior. Removeable side windows feature traditional slide openings. The rear window is also hinged at the top for cargo area access.

A fun touch is that Brock Yates signed the rear spoiler!
